New Eutek TeaCup® Grit Removal, Washing & Classification System - Water Treatment

The Eutek TeaCup® is an all hydraulic, high efficiency vortex separator designed to remove grit, sediment and sand from wastewater, raw water and other liquids using vortex motion and boundary layer effects to aid in organics removal. It discharges a clean (low organic) grit slurry, which emits fewer odors and requires only dewatering to meet stringent disposal regulations.

Designed to remove >=100 micron particles

Low operating flowrate: 0.76 MGD – will get 150 um removal; 7.5” headloss
100 um cutpoint flowrate: 1.9 MGD – will get 100 um removal; 38” headloss
Design flowrate: 3.0 MGD with 95” headloss
High operating flowrate: 5.7 MGD – will get 100 um removal; 342” headloss

Influent Connection: 12" flanged pipe
Effluent Connection: 14" flanged pipe
Underflow Connection: 3" flanged pipe

Design Recommendations:

• 4 – 7 ft/s grit slurry pipe velocities as recommended by industry design manuals
• Incorporate a drain line in the grit dumpster to allow for further dewatering prior to disposal
• A minimum 18” of access clearance around all equipment and minimum 3’ of access clearance above
equipment
• Operators find that it is useful to locate a spray hose adjacent to the equipment so that they can spray all
equipment down during an inspection
